Karen Terrado is owner and co-founder of The Six Studios in Seattle, Washington offering musically driven, energy filled, purpose centered yoga and HIIT classes to get you ready to take on whatever the world has in store for you - accessible, fun, and engaging to awaken to be and become your best self. Karen is known for her intention setting routines and will kick off the conference with getting us centered for the day.
Powerhouse speaker, mentor, leader and startup founder Tiffany Dufu will present the morning keynote. Her phenomenal career journey includes being the Associate Director of Development at Seattle Girls’ School to the Chief Leadership Officer at Levo and on to being named Entrepreneur's 100 Powerful Women and Fast Company’s League of Extraordinary Women. Last year, Tiffany raised her first million to launch and grow The Cru - a constellation of women looking to accelerate and realize our life goals.
Womxn of color are often culture shifters in their organizations. In bold and subtle ways, womxn of color change the work landscape, to ensure that all identities are welcome and thrive. We’ll hear from a panel of womxn of color who aren’t simply getting a seat at the table in their respective industries, but are creating their own tables, cultivating their own spaces, and forging untraditional paths within traditional institutions.

DECOLONIZING WEALTH FOR WOMXN OF COLOR FIRESIDE CHAT WITH MANDELA SH DIXON, CEO & FOUNDER OF FOUNDER GYM
Across all demographic groups, the racial wealth gap makes it harder for womxn of color in the United States to rise in their careers and experience socio-economic mobility. Black womxn will earn up to $1 million less than white families in their lifetimes on average. At the same time, womxn of color across all sectors are starting more businesses than ever, and using their entrepreneurial skills to generate unprecedented value for companies. Together, womxn of color leaders are poised to slash the racial wealth gap — learn more from experts on how to build generational wealth.

Winning allies and champions is critical to the success of a womxn of color. At the same time, it is necessary for allies who hold more privilege, to share their platform with others who face societal biases. We’ll explore a spectrum from allyship to advocacy to co-conspiring - so attendees can find champions in the community and at work to accelerate career advancement.

Minda Harts, author of The Memo: What Women of Color Need to Know to Secure a Seat at the Table, will present the closing keynote about finding the courage to step up into leadership. Minda is devoted to helping women of color to take control over their careers by providing access to important resources and real world advice on their career development.
Future for Us is a platform dedicated to advancing womxn of color at work through community, culture and career development. We envision a future of work where womxn of color lead at the highest levels of corporate, government, and social sector organizations. We do this through a mix of monthly events, large-scale conferences for both womxn of color professionals and allies, and research.
